Petit Futé 2017At the borders of the Gers, close to the department of Les Landes, the commune of Toujouse shelters a half-timbered farm and Landes style torches not quite like the others…

And for good reason: it is the seat of the museum of the Gascon peasant! Created in 1991, this one is the fact of enthusiasts wishing to reconstruct with the visitors the life of the countries of Biscay before the advent of the mechanics and the arrival of tractors.

Objects, clothes, documents and tools of the past will enhance your visit, as well as different plant species.

The modernization of the museum is complete!

Everything is done now, so that the visit of the Gascon Peasant Museum makes it easy to grasp, at a few glance, the outlines and the concrete aspects of the rural activities of past generations. This in a very pleasant atmosphere, because the facilities that present the tools and the different materials have been enlarged and fitted out. And the soil was concretized properly. So that the collections are presented offshore, by activity, with clear explanations. Large canopies protect from sun or bad weather. » Excerpt from the Journal du Gers, June 27, 2016.
