The Musée du Paysan Gascon, a living memory of the Gers
Where rural memory comes back to life
Between Nogaro and Barbotan-les-Thermes, in the heart of Bas-Armagnac, the Musée du Paysan Gascon welcomes you to a former farm estate typical of Gascony.
Here, the rural heritage of the Gers is not frozen behind glass: it is lived, shared, and passed on.
Through a covered and fully accessible trail, you’ll discover the everyday life of the past — shaped by simple gestures, forgotten know-how, and familiar emotions. Every room, every tool, every house tells a story: that of the men and women who shaped this land.
The museum invites you to walk in the footsteps of the weaver, to listen to the tales of a Gascon dance, to brush your hand against the clay walls of the labourer’s house, and to marvel at the Armagnac stills.
More than just an exhibition space, it is a place of life, where Gascon culture, the Occitan language, peasant traditions, and living transmission meet. Activities, demonstrations, storytelling and encounters punctuate the seasons and make this museum a place deeply rooted in its region.

“John Deere: The Epic Journey of a Brand”
Dive into the fascinating history of one of the most iconic brands in the farming world!
Through around fifty 1:16 scale models, the exhibition “John Deere: The Epic Journey of a Brand” traces over a century of mechanical and design innovation — from the very first Froelich Tractor of 1892 to powerful modern machines like the 9620 XR from 2017.
This exceptional collection features models from ERTL, Precision Classics, and Bruder, as well as a rare Lanz MD 18 S combine harvester made of steel and painted in John Deere’s historic colours. Handcrafted by the collector himself, it showcases unique craftsmanship.
The exhibition is enriched with a selection of specialised books and magazines to better understand the technical and cultural evolution of this legendary brand.
A fun and informative experience for all ages — whether you’re a fan of agricultural machinery or simply curious.
